Telegram from the Governor of Hong Kong to the
Secretary of State for the Colonies.
(Dated 3rd February, 1927).
(Received Colonial Office 8.10 a.m.3rd February,1927).
My telegram of 21st January. Trade situations
Import trade in Hong Kong practically at a
standstill but exports are moving in moderate
quantity. Most native dealers in piece goods
are requiring British goods to be without British
mark presumably with a view to passing them off
as Japanese. British Steamship lines are receiving
good share of Canton traffic.
(Unnumbered Telegram of 3rd February).
