by a girl who until some months ago was a pupil at the School; we have thus an added interest in the work of the Alice Memorial Hospital. Lastly, in addition to all these, the sum of $60 a year is sent to the C.M.S. Victoria Home and Orphanage in Kowloon, to assist in the maintenance of an orphan. The Head of the Home, Miss Jennings, has sent us the Report of the C.M.S. Home for 1926, describing its work.

M.C.L. Activities.
The activities of the Belilios Girls centre very largely round the work done in aid of the Ministering Children's League. In School we use "The M.C.L." as a comprehen- sive term to include everything that we do in this direction, but actually the money raised by the School during the year is devoted to other uses besides that of the support of the League in Hongkong. Throughout the year subscriptions are made every week by all the girls; there is also money from the monthly Tea Fund, and in addition each class raises a sum of money at the end of the summer term and the school year.
This is raised in various ways; by the sale of toys, the raffling of cakes made by the Cookery Class, and of handkerchiefs and beautifully dressed dolls. Miss Hung's stall is always a feature on these occasions. The senior girls give us entertainment at a small price by performing Chinese plays, or by giving cinema shows or conjuring entertainments and concerts. These are all greatly enjoyed, particularly as they are entirely arranged by the girls themselves; and, besides cheering us on our way to the holidays, they help to swell the coffers of the Belilios M.C.L. Funds.
Belilios also takes a share in the Annual M.C.L. Fête. Last year, under the direction of Miss Hung and the Junior Assistants, the School had a stall at which were sold garments and fancy articles made by the girls, sweets in home-made baskets, hand painted handkerchiefs and other things. There was also a Lucky Ring which proved very popular. proceeds from the stall and the Ring were $181.00.

The money contributed in all these ways is devoted to various causes. A sum of one thousand dollars is paid every year to the Hongkong M.C.L. Funds; included in this are the proceeds from the stall at the Fête. To the Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street, London, is sent annually a subscription of £50. is sent to the Alice to maintain a cot.

A VISIT TO HOSPITAL SHIP MAINE." When the hospital ship "Maine first came to Hongkong, we all hoped that we would visit her some day.
Not long afterwards, we received a notice from Mr. Ralphs that the Surgeon-Commander would be glad to show over the "Maine
members of the Victoria Nursing Division and Lady Motor Drivers. This was the first time that we had ever seen a hospital ship.
On April 27, all the members of the V.N.D. and two Lady Motor Drivers went to the Maine "in uniform,
in charge of Mr. Ralphs and Mr. Morris, Miss Gertie Choa had kindly provided us with a launch; we took with us some hospital comforts consisting of sweets, biscuits, cigarettes, etc., and left Queen's Pier at 10 a.m.
