III. To be capable of maintaining in good running working order
self-propelled petrol-driven motor Fire Engines, land and
marine, and other Government motors.
Able to drive, also to teach Foremen to drive and
handle the engines at Fires and Drills and to super- vise the proper and efficient working.
A knowledge of the working of Steam Fire Engines and care
of boilers.
A workshop knowledge and practice in the upkeep of all
Fire Fighting equipment.
Must be able to write reports on Fire Protection etc. To take charge of Central Station and at Fires in the absence of the Superintendent.
