SI JAMES'S PALACE.S.W.

My dear Marsh,

I am very sorry I havn't had a moment

to-day to come and say goodbye to you.

Thank you for the telegram from the Governor of the Straits Settlements enclosing the proposed programme at Singapore. I will shew it to liis Royal Highness on board and will reply direct

to Sir L. Guillemard.

Could you wire to the Governors of Ceylon, Malaya, and Hong Kong, telling them from now on to communicate direct with the Chief of Staff to H.R.H.

The Prince of Wales with reference to any actual details of the programme, etc., but, of course, to continue telegraphing through you should there be any larger questions of policy, in which case you would doubtless repeat them to us on our travels. Yours very sincerely,

E. Marsh, Esqre., C.B., C.M.G..

Goofy Thomas.
