1. Duties of office and qualifications required for their
performance.
Must produce a medical certificate of physical fitness for duty in the Tropics.
May be required to serve anywhere in the Colony, the Federated Malay States, or the Malay States not included in
the Federation.
(i) What are the duties of the Officer? (i) To prepare contract and working drawings, detail, Bills of Quantities, Specifications, estimates etc., take levels, measure up and value works, superintend works, and generally assist in the work of an architectural office.
(ii) What are the qualifications required? (ii) Applicants should have been articled and trained in the offices of London or Provincial Architects of good standing, have a good knowledge of ironwork and ferro concrete construction quantity etc., and be a surveying member of the Royal Institute of British
Architects.
(iii) Will the officer be required to
pass any examinations, and if so in what subjects and within what period?
