TREE 19 SEP 06

Messrs. Sir John Wolfe Barry & Partners

to Crown Agents.

21, Delahay Street,

Westminster, S.W.

10. September 1906,

Kowloon Canton Railway

British Section.

Gentlemen,

With reference to your letter of 4th inst.

enclosing copy of a letter from His Excellency the

Governor of Hong Kong to the Secretary of State for the

Colonies we regret that we have apparently misread the

documents sent with your letter of 26th February as we

were under the impression that we were asked to report not

only on the preliminary reclamation for the railway at

Kowloon, but also on the completed scheme.

This we now

see from His Excellency's letter is not the case and we

therefore need not trouble you to apply to the Admiralty

for a large plan of Hung Hom Bay.

We note that it is now proposed to continue the

preliminary reclamation until it abuts on Messrs. Blackhead

and Company's Kowloon Marine Lot No. 81 in accordance with

the revised plan received with the Chief Resident Engineer's

General Letter No. 4 dated 1st June. On receipt of this

plan we were somewhat at a loss how to deal with it as the

plan differed considerably from the plan received from

the Public Works Department accompanying your letter of

6th.
