Extract from the Minutes of the Executive Council held on the 19th August, 1875.

Resolved.

1. That this Council desires to record its appreciation of the eminent services rendered to the Colony by the Surveyor-General, Mr. J.M. Price in making surveys and preparing estimates for an improved supply of water to the City of Victoria; and by his able and exhaustive reports which may be considered to have finally settled all preliminary questions upon the subject.
