They share none of his mad excitement nor of his joy over his .rare successes. Since he does not wish to. be cured psychological treatment is well nigh impossible. He will use whatever means comes. his way to feed his raven- ous appetite for garnbling. Nothing 'education, lionme environment, ather interests, wise encouragement is likely to restrain him. Even when it is he alonc who suffers the consequences, his disease is acruel one. A wasted unhappy life is the sad result for the obsessive. gambler..

Gambling must be made to lose it fascination and attraction as cure for a dreary existence. At most, gambling is meant to be only an occasional and mildly exciting game never to be regarded seriously. For it is well to remember that while thousands of people compete for large prizes with only minimal. chances of success; the organisers enjoy huge profits with, in some cases, no risk at.all.
