The document however in no way

elucidates the plan actually sent for

approval to the War Department and cannot conclude the existing legal right of the Colony to resume any part of that land

right which.

apparently the Military wish to

extinguish.

22. The General nevertheless

very

inconsistently

argues,

that from such

a document, the Colonial Government

were not without exact information of the plan recommended by the Military Authorities, though, already frequently stated, this

Government has never seen or suffered to see either that plan or the communication accompanying

it.

The map of Fletcher's lot however, as signed by the Surveyor General, shews the probable line of the future roadway reserved on the land to be reclaimed - I should

have liked to know therefore whether such public thoroughfare forms part of

the plan sent home by the Military.
