is organized in line with the
Biology syllabus of the HKCEE.. It aims at providing the stu- dents sitting for the 1979 HK CEE a programmed revision on the basic biological concepts and helping them to acquire skills in solving problems.

Since the activity of enzyme is pH-dependent: and the enzyme protein can be denat red at high temperatures, the facts that the activity of x is restrained in acid solution and after boiling suggested that
x contains an enzyme.

If the egg-white in the test experiment showe little change after the experiment then the hypothesis becomes favoured. The reason is. that enzymes can be inactivated at low tem-. peratures.
