English is an important language with a large vocabulary. One reason for this 18 that English words often combine, or join, to create a new word with a new meaning. However,. there are times when the words which make the compound keep their meanings. A good reader learns to recognize - whether or not the meanings of the words which make the compound are "changed in the new form,
