Farticiples and Gerunds (1)

(a) Present. Farticiples (现在分词) Study the following sentenc@в

1. Singing, Jane went to sobool.

All the participles underlined in the above sentences, which are ending in 'ing', do the work as Adjectives and qualify the nouns, are called

Present Participlee。(以上有劃線的分词是有ing木的 是用作形容词去形容一些名詞,碣為现在分词)

We further notice that in Sentence 2, 4 and 5 the Present Participles also take objects, e.g., in Sentences 2, 'Bearing' takes the object the noise' Therefore a Participle is a word which is partly a verb and partly an adjective. (在三四五五句中,公司 的 hearing 帶者受词the noise, 因此
