How does the government help the businessmen to promote trade and industries?
The world markets were becoming steadily mors: competitive for Hong Kong products. In order to promote trade and industries a Productivity Council, an Export Development Council and an Export Credit Insurance Corporation were established by the government to direct export promotion activities. Productivity Council and.productivity centres
This council includes representatives of employers' and workers' associations, together with experts and government officials. The government will spend 2.5
million dollars for this project. - The Council will serve as a general advisory and policy making body. The centre will provide training for speciatists; managers and supervisors. There will be managerial and consultancy service, technical assistance and a 1ibrary The centre will maintain contact with international organisations in promoting trade activities, The centre will also provide a research section to deal with statistics and technical information..
