I have the honor to acknowledge your letter of 4th instant which reached me too late for notice by the last outgoing mail.

The subject was brought to the notice of the Colonial Office some 9 years ago, but I am unable to find any decision arrived at.

The circumstances have materially changed since Major-General Sir Charles T. Van Straubenzee was here.
