Yesterday's shipping statement, show ed that the total number of vessels in the harbour at 9 am was 13, of which 37 were British.

The arrivals for the twenty-four hours ended at reyesterday numbered soven, vil-four British, two American and one Japanese. The departures over the same period were six, including one vasse! for Amoy and one for Canton; with two clearances, both for coast porta.

"Of the cargo entered for Hongkong, no less than 7,833 tons were carried in British vessels. The heaviest entry, 8,000 tons of sugar. was made by a British vessel, the next beat, 1,601 tons of general cargo, also being brought by a British steamer.
