SHIPPING ITEMS.

The Taishun, which arrived in Hong. kong on Thursday evening, experienced the typhoon which was felt in Hongkong as the beginning of this month.

She lett Shanghay on August 1st, and anchored at Woosung for two days, having met a very strong N.E. gale. The weather moderated. on the 3rd instant and she weighed anchor and proceeded on her way, thereafter Ün xperiencing light, variable winds: approaching Hongkong she met iederate N.W. winds.

Shortly after 'clock on the morning of July 29th, the Harkira Mara, proceed- ing up the river at Shanghai with a cargo of coal, bumped into the P. & O. jetty. Messrs. Jardine, Matheson's ferry-boat. Thistle Leaf, which was lying alongside. acted as a fender, nad was crumpled up. She sank soon after and no hopes are entertained of her being salved. The damage is estimated at several thousand tacks.
