I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 28 Ultimo, relative to the Inspectorship of Police in Hong Kong;
and in answer thereto to inform you that the report that H.M. Govt were about to send 12 Inspectors of Police to Hongkong is without foundation.
