My dear,

Jord.,

Singapore, January 2nd, 1843,

I have the pleasure to acknowledge the receipt of your letter dated Hart 2, 1842.

A large portion of the blankets had reached Chunar before the parties from that Station, but with the exception of the Menindee.

Merchandise received from Sydney, I was enabled to furnish a blanket gratis to every European and native soldier at Moreton Bay, and to extend our issues to all public servants and followers.

I have to pray for the gratuitous issue of further assistance by what you recommend.

There are still issues to be made to the men of the Molong Sepoy.

I could have wished to make some remark, but was restrained by the uncertainty at that time, whether the supply would arrive at Sydney.

The Military Storekeeper, Mr. Stanley, Principal Storekeeper of the Department, Judd.
