THE rates of opium licenses quoted on Saturday are incorrect. They are £25, £50, and £76 Ster ling, per annum, for 18), 24, and 3d class licenses respectively.

We have marked for extract a condensed history of the principal crown offices-a subject with which many otherwise well informed people are almost unacquainted. Our space is too limited to publish the article in one paper; it will therefore be divided, and appear so as not to interfere with the usual selections from the papers brought by the monthly mail.

A Sandwich Island paper ofthe 13th May contains a few items of news from California up to the 20th- April,

Commodore Biddle was exercising the rights of 3.06% sovereignty by enforcing the navigation lawa-it 13,411 being intimated that foreign vessels were to be ex- 378,485
