respectively, shall have liberty freely and securely to come, with their ships and cargoes, to all places, ports, and rivers in the dominions and possessions of the other, to which other foreigners are or may be permitted to come; and shall, throughout the whole extent of the dominions and possessions of the other, enjoy the same rights, privileges, liber- ties, favours, immunities, and exemptions in mat- ters of commerce and navigation, which are or may be enjoyed by native subjects generally.
ARTICLE II.
No other or higher duties shall be imposed on the importation into the dominions and possessions of Her Britannic Majesty, of any article the pro- duce or manufacture of the dominions and posses- sions of His Majesty the King of Italy, from whatever place arriving, and no other or higher duties shall be imposed on the importation into the dominions and possessions of His Majesty the King of Italy, of any article the produce or ma- nufacture of Her Britannic Majesty's dominions and possessions, from whatever place arriving, than are or may be payable on the like article, the produce or manufacture of any other foreign country; nor shall any prohibition be maintained or imposed on the importation of any article the produce or manufacture of the dominions and possessions of either of the Contracting Parties into the dominions and possessions of the other, which shall not equally extend to the importation of the like articles being the produce or manufacture of any other country.
His Majesty the King of Italy further engages that he will not prohibit the importation into his dominions and possessions of any article the produce or manufacture of the dominions and possessions of Her Britannic Majesty, from whatever place arriving.

ARTICOLO II.
All' importazione negli stati e possedimenti di Sua Maestà Britannica di qualsiasi mercanzia, pro- dotta o fabbricata negli stati o possessi di Sua Maestà il Re d'Italia, qualunque siane la prove- nienza, e similmente all' importazione negli stati e possessi di Sua Maestà il Re d'Italia di qualsiasi mercanzia, prodotta o fabbricata negli stati di Sua Maestà la Regina d'Inghilterra, qualunque ne sia la provenienza, non saranno riscossi altri o maggiori duzi d'entrata che quelli che si pagano o potranno pagarsi sui consimili articoli prodotti o fabbricati in qualunque altro paese straniero.
Non potrà conservarsi nè imporsi dall' una delle Alte Parti Contraenti alcun divieto all' importa- zione ne' proprii stati e possessi di qualsiasi mer- canzia prodotta o fabbricata negli stati o possessi dell' altra, senza che tal divieto non sia nell' istessa guisa applicato all' importazione di consimili mer- canzie prodotte o fabbricate in qualunque siasi altro paese.
Sua Maestà il Re d'Italia s'impegna ancora a non proibire l'importazione ne' suoi dominii e pos- sessioni di qualsiasi inercanzia prodotta o fabbricata nei dominii e possessi di Sua Maestà Britannica, qualunque siane la provenienza.
ARTICLE III.
No other or higher duties or charges shall be imposed in the dominions and possessions of either of the Contracting Parties, on the exportation of any article to the dominions and possessions of the other, than such as are, or may be, payable on the exportation of the like article to any other foreign country; nor shall any prohibition be imposed on the exportation of any article from the dominions and possessions of either of the two Contracting Parties to the dominions and possessions of the other, which shall not equally extend to the ex- portation of the like article to any other country.
ARTICLE IV.
The subjects of one of the Contracting Parties shall enjoy, in the dominions and possessions of the other, equality of treatment with native sub- jects in all that relates to the transit trade; and also in regard to ware-housing, bounties, facilities,
and drawbacks.
ARTICOLO III.
Sull' esportazione di qualsiasi mercanzia dagli stati e possessi d'una delle Parti Contraenti, in destinazione degli stati e possessi dell' altra, non saranno riscossi altri diritti o maggiori di quelli che si riscuoteramo sui simili articoli esportati per qualsivoglia altro paese straniero. Non sarà im- posto divieto all' esportazione di qualsiasi mercanzia dagli stati e possessi di una delle Parti Contraenti per gli stati e possessi dell' altra, senza che tal divieto sia applicato, nell' istessa guisa, all' espor- tazione di consimili articoli per qualsiasi altro paese straniero.
ARTICOLO IV.
I sudditi di una delle due Parti Contraenti godranno, negli stati e possessi dell' altra, egua- glianza di trattamento co nazionali in tutto quanto ha rapporto al commercio di transito, ed anche in quello che concerne magazzinaggio, diritti di rim- portazione, favori, e drawbacks.
