The following Report from the Superintendent of the Hongkong Fire Brigade, is published for general information.

VICTORIA, HONGKONG, 10th November, 1869. SIR, I have the honor to present to your notice for the information of His Excellency The GOVERNOR the Monthly Report of the Fire Brigade.

An Inspection and Parade of the Government and Volunteer Fire Brigades, was held on the 21st October, ultimo. The several Brigades with their Engines assembled at the Cross Roads at 5 P.M. Engines present being--Hand Engine Royal" Insurance Company, Steam Engine "Hongkong" Insurance Company, Three Chinese owned Hand Engines, Two Government Brigade Steam Engines, Two Government Brigade Hand Engines, with Fire Ladders, Hose-Reels, Coal Truck, &c.

The Fires of the respective Steam Engines were lit precisely at 5 P.M.,' at which time" (in accordance with orders) the Engines proceeded to places indicated, viž:-

No. 1. (large) Government Steam Engine to the Praya at "Cleverly" Street.

No. 2. Government Steam Engine and Steam Engine of the "Hongkong" Insurance Company, to corner of "Jervois Street and "Cleverly" Street.

Two Government Hand Engines at Queen's Road, and the "Royal" Hand Engine with three Chinese owned Engines to Hollywood Road.

The Three Steam Engines were all brought into work before 20 minutes past 5. The large Government Steam Engine conveying sea water thro' two lengths of hose each 560 feet, to supply the two Steam Engines at "Jervois" Street, which had their respective delivery hose laid out to the "Queen's Road."

The whole of the Hand Engines were worked from the Street Mains, and both Steam and Hand Engines were found in good order and worked satisfactorily.

In consequence of the Illuminations for the reception of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, precautionary measures were taken. The subsidiary Fire Stations and Chinese Volunteers were warned to be on the alert.

No. 1. Government Steam Engine was placed under a tent at the Praya, and No. 2. Steam Engine drawn out on part of the Engine House Cross Roads, both having Steam partially up during the nights of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd November, instant. There was also a number of Chinese laborers specially engaged to drag these Engines had necessity arisen.

The Steam Engine of the "Hongkong" Insurance Company was in a similar state of readiness opposite to the Company's Engine House at Praya Central.

An inspection of the Government Fire Brigade Engines, Fire Ladders, &c., was held at Praya near Canton Steamer Wharf at 3 P.M. on the 6th November, instant. Fires of the Steam Engines were lit precisely at P.M., and in seventeen minutes thereafter the No. 1 (large) Steam Engine was at work.

No. 2. Steam Engine was at work at twenty minutes past 3.

The Hand Engines were worked and found in order.

Mr. Barber, Engineer R.N., inspected the Steam Engines after the first Parade on the 21st October, and was present during the second inspection on the 6th November, as also visited the Engines on the evening of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd instant, when as before mentioned they were partially under steam, and reports that they were clean, in perfect good order, and worked very satisfactorily.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

With reference to Government Notification No. 121 of 15th October last, it is hereby notified that the QUEEN'S Exequatur empowering Lieutenant-Colonel CHARLES NOBLE GOULDING to act as Consul at Hongkong for the United States of America, received Her Majesty's Signature on the 18th of September, 1869.

GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION.

With reference to-Government Notification No. 128 of the 1st instant, it is hereby notified that His Excellency The GOVERNOR has been informed by the Right Honorable The Secretary of State for the Colonies, that the Queen's Exequatur empowering Don FERMIN SAENZ DE TEJADA to act as Spanish Vice-Consul a Hongkong, received Her Majesty's Signature on the 18th of September, 1869.
