NORTH CHANNEL ENTRANCE TO THE YANGTZE RIVER.

ALTERATIONS IN AIDS TO NAVIGATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Aids to Navigation in the North Channel entrance to the Yangtze River have been changed as follows :-

Drinkwater Point Gas-lighted Bnoy has been replaced in position and now bears S. 871 W.. distant 12.2 miles from Shaweishan Lighthouse, and is moored in 18 feet at low water of spring tides.

Drinkwater Point Gas Light-vessel has been shifted and moored in 25 feet at low water of spring tides S. 24° E., distant 3.46 miles from Drinkwater Point Beacon (erected on the side of Drinkwater Point Lighthouse).

The Middle Island Buoy has been removed, and a Gas-lighted Buoy, painted black, to be known as the Middle Island Gas-lighted Buoy, moored in 52 feet at low water of spring tides S. 444° W., distant 1.5 miles from the site of the Liuchiao Lighthouse.

Liuchiao Light and Chiyao Bank Gas-lighted Buoy have been discontinued. The Quarantine Anchorage Upper Buoy has been replaced by a Gas-lighted Buoy, painted red, and moored in 30 feet at low water of spring tides S. 42° W., distant 1.1 miles from the Quarantine Beacon.

The Quarantine Anchorage Lower Buoy has been replaced by a 6-foot conical Buoy, painted red, and moored in 30 feet at low water of spring tides S. 123 E., distant 1.83 miles from the Quarantine Beacon.

The Quarantine Buoys now mark the Northern side of the Channel as well as definc

the limits of the Quarantine Anchorage.

All bearings given are magnetic.
