During my recent visit to liong Kong you gave me a
list of subjects on which liong Kong had for some time been awaiting replies from the oreign and Commonwealth Office. I set out below the position in reṇard to each of the subjects
mentioned.

These three matters are all being dealt with together since they are very closely interconnected, I am sorry that you have had to wait so long for a reply to your Saving Despatch of 15 February. As you know, the issues involved are extremely complex with a high political content here: we are in the process of preparing a comprehensive submission to Ministers. We shall do our best to deal with the matter
without further delay.
