HONG KONG - EVACUATION POLICY
1.
As part of a general review of plans for Hong Kong, the Commander-in-Chief, Far East, in conjunction with the Governor and the Commander British Forces, Hong Kong, has re-examined the evacuation policy for the Colony, and has forwarded their proposals (1) on this matter. I enclose a copy of this
letter.
2.
The Commander-in-Chief, Far East, has requested your endorsement of the proposals in his letter, which the Governor of Hong Kong is endeavouring to get approved by the Commonwealth Office.
3. You are requested to inform me of your endorsement of the proposals in the Commander-in-Chief's letter (1) by noon Monday 22nd May 1967.
