Chargé d'Affaires handed a note (which he refused to accept) containing warning that H.M.G. must immediately
instruct British authorities in Hong Kong to comply with
the demands of the Hong Kong workers and in particular the
five point demands of 15 May.
Chinese Chargé stated that if British authorities in
Hong Kong and British Government did not immediately stop
their "fascist atrocities" or accept "five just demands" Chinese compatriots in Hong Kong would be provoked into
taking even heavier counter measures.
Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanded:

a public apology for the incidents of 8 July;
immediate punishment of the culprits and compensation to the residents of Sha Tau Kok
for their losses and the release from arrest
of all the residents who have been detained
since 24 June;
guarantee that no further incidents of this
nature will occur again.
Chinese Government demanded release of arrested N.C.N.A.
journalist (Hsueh P'ing), with an apology and guarantee
of normal safety and freedom for N.C.N.A. in Hong Kong.
Hsieh P'ing's demands in court:
(a) that he be released immediately;
compensation and admission of guilt by
Hong Kong authorities;
(b)

guarantee of no recurrence;
(a) punishment of thugs.
